Feminists believe in the social, economic, and political equality of the sexes. That”s the straight up dictionary definition.
Feminism is not carte blanche man hating. (although we do hate a few men, but they earned it fair and square).

The word for people who hate women is misogynist and it was a word all the way back in 1620. So, clearly the fellas got a jump on us.
Therefore, the word feminist when used as a slur, was clearly hijacked by those who feel threatened, do not know how to make their own sandwich, and do not understand.
Those that say, “I believe in equality, but I’m not a feminist” have suffered at the hands of a brilliant propaganda campaign against the word, and against women. Do not fall for it.

As more humans become aware of the true issues of feminism and the patriarchy, they will want to ravenously consume more information about the topic. It’s interesting to look at our culture and belief systems and see how they have been shaped by these issues.
FeministHandbook.com pulls it all together for you in one place, to come and unlearn the lessons society has taught us.
Most of us are making progress. We welcome your constructive comments on our content. Feminism is a hot button. Some readers will be further down the path than our stories, some won’t even be on the path yet. It is through discussion and sharing and yes even respectful challenging, that we grow.
But make no mistake, we are proud feminists and are here to promote it even if sometimes it’s clumsy.
Our hope is that this “handbook” leads to exploration and understanding, We have a lot of unlearning to do and big thoughts to ponder. Stretching our minds is good, as long as equality and peace are the goal.

You can’t talk about equality and the patriarchy and leave out politics. So, yes, that gets mixed in as well. Our views are pretty liberal and we are aren’t in sync on almost anything the current Republican party is saying or doing. It’s gonna come up. It must come up.
There is so much more to learn and explore, and we believe the more you know, the more fascinating the topic of feminism becomes. This website exists to show the good, and the worthy, and the infuriating.
